Your First Visit

Dental Exam
- Examination of teeth for decay
- Recording of existing fillings.
- Recommendation of necessary restorations and/or replacements of faulty fillings.
- Periodontal exam, examination of gingival (gums) and periodontal pockets and bone support of teeth to determine if
periodontal disease is present.
- Occlusion (Bite)

Head and Neck Examination
- Oral Cancer Examination.
- Palpation of Chewing Muscles.
- Palpation of Lymph Nodes.
- Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ).

X-Rays
- Necessary and appropriate x-rays.
|
Prophylaxis (Dental Cleaning)
- Assessment of oral condition and determination of needed home care instruction.
- Scaling, which may include use of ultrasonic instruments.
- Polishing.
- All appropriate oral hygiene home care instruction which may include brushing (manual and electric/sonic brushes
will be presented), flossing, tongue de-plaquing, and site specific care.
